While the "hands looking out into space" mantra is undoubtedly the norm in our lives, there's no doubt that the confidence in Rotary is growing, and more people are making contact with each other. But Rotary has changed. While we are in the summer of 2021, there's a lingering sense of uncertainty regarding how our work with society will include the much-valued interpersonal connections that have been enjoyed by Rotary participants in the past. While the traditional 'hands in face space' will undoubtedly remain a part of our daily practice, it's evident that confidence is building and connections between face-to-face occur. Rotary has changed. Rotary is a network which fosters lasting friendships. The outbreak has forced us to enhance our technology methods. We maintain our business on the internet, while introducing a new social and service activity. We've embraced the newest opportunities, and have combined them with the best of our habits for preventing pandemics to provide a bright new future for Rotary! It was encouraging to learn that 75% of Rotary clubs intend to keep their "business like usual" actions. This summer the majority of Rotary members have been out with their families and friends, working on various tasks, such as beach and river clean-ups, litter removal and beach cleanups.
